Question by Eowyn Skywalker: How can I import video into my computer from my video camera?
I have a Hitachi DVD Cam and Windows XP. When I connect the camera to the computer, it won’t recognize that the camera is attached. I would like to import video from the disc to my computer so that I can then erase the video from the disc and free up more space. The computer will recognize the camera when I have it on “card photo” but not for video clips. What can I do to fix this?
I forgot to mention; my camera is a Hitachi DZ-MV580A.
The Artistic One, I can’t drag and drop the files, unfortunately. It won’t recognize that I even have a camera attached via USB cable.

Question by Clifford Gadd: What is the best laptop for a computer engineer?
I’m in college and on my way to becoming a computer engineer. I haven’t taken any programming classes yet, but all I have is an acer netbook. I’m planning on buying a new laptop by next spring and I was wondering what the best laptop would be for me to purchase. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s a mac or a pc. I just want a laptop that will be able to handle everything that I throw at it. Thanks for all your help.

Talk to your adviser or teacher and ask what capabilities your computer will need in order to help with your courses. Then look for those capabilities in several brands. Personally H-P is hard to beat.

You have to buy a certain kind of R.A.M. for your motherboard. You can find the right one at www.crusial.com where you choose your PC Manufacturer, Type, and the Model which is a 3 step thing, or you can do this automatic checking from www.crusial.com to get you the right kind of R.A.M. or the recommended for your computer which is called “The Crucial System Scanner.” Hope this Helps!

It would help to know if it’s a disc you purchased, something you downloaded and burned yourself, etc.

It would also help to know if you’re trying to use an internal or external drive to install, as well as if you’re attempting a clean install or an in-place upgrade.

And it would help to know what model computer you’re using — I believe some particular laptop models are known to have issues, for example.

There are a number of comparable error codes that can occur beginning with “0×8007″ if you want to search the web. They don’t all end with the exactly same numbers you have depending on exactly where the problem crops up.

But otherwise it would help if you can provide more info on your system and how you’re trying to install.
