How do I look up the browser history on a computer after it’s been deleted? Or prevent it from being deleted?

Question by iDeal: How do I look up the browser history on a computer after it’s been deleted? Or prevent it from being deleted?
I have a roommate who used my computer and deleted the browser history every time he uses it. I told him do not look up porn because it’s my computer and that he has to respect I don’t want that looked up on my computer. I find it very convenient that he deletes the history so I won’t know what he’s been looking at… I’m not nosey just nice to let him use my computer. Any tips?

Hello,
Well usually after deleting your history; its gone. And can’t come back.. try looking into recycling bin.

No! It’s not gone!
The bytes still reside on your hard drive. If you feel like hauling it down to your local computer shop, I’m sure you can find a geek there who will do a data recovery.
You can do one yourself, but they require background knowledge of how a computer works, patience, and many other things.
I prefer to do them using a Linux LiveCD, but opinions differ on this. I do not recommend doing it yourself.
Depends on what web browser he was using !!
