What is the website? Is it using Java or Flash and maybe you don’t have them installed?

server is down on the website…..
to double check go on a friends computer and try to go to the site..
if it works than you have a virus but i highly doubt its a virus.
its the websites server.
Check your internet connection settings, its maybe because your IP address is not compatible with the one you are using, so click properties on the network you are using and then click “Automatically Use Network IP Address.
if you try it on a different computer and it still doesn’t work, then its the webpage.
Assuming taht your interent is working and other pages work then its probably been deleted
It obviously is out of service, or the web pages server is down. You could of reached a 404- web page not availible. Odds are it is not you- it is the website. But if you need this site and can’t access it- try to call the company’s phone number.
wouldn’t really assume anything.
basically… run down the list.
can you get online? other websites? can you navigate or locate your router if you’re on one?
what sort of website is it. “when” are you trying to visit it…. peak times, or some popular website may be down, or sluggish at peak times.
Are you behind a firewall? have anti-virus? anti-spyware software. might be a good idea to run a thorough set of scans with these programs.
if the site is some proprietary site (ie… your office’s VPN or whatever) you may need to check with someone to see if you’re set up to access it.
also… sometimes, certain sites …conflict with certain browsers. are you using MSIE, or Firefox (or safari, chrome etc) sometimes that can conflict. try downloading and using a different browser.
Sometimes it helps to update your browser. …try that. Sometimes you need to enable SSL security. or some such feature.
it all depends.
first thing would be to check your general “access” to the internet. go to a search site. navigate to a major website. i dunno..yahoo or something. click on a link within that site. if you can hop to different sites. it’s most likely not your internet connection.
then check your system. viruses, spyware etc. my affect sites. or access to the internet. they may ocupy ports or services some site needs to work properly etc. check that.
last..consider what sort of site it is.
consider how you’re trying to get to it. update/change up your browser.
last case scenario you can try and find the website’s specific IP. and can type that directly into your browser. and bypass some errors with… web search engines and bad coding on pages.
but i wouldn’t count out the fairly real possibility that the site you’re getting to… just has problems. Or that…the path your particular internet provider goes to get to it. may be blocked by…the host of that site. or any other number of random things that are well outside your control.
